About the Performance
Sunday is the most segregated day in America. Go Ye Therefore… is s story about two southern women—one white, one black, both daughters and granddaughters of Baptist preachers—rooted in different racial and cultural worship traditions. New Orleans native Kathy Randels and first generation Zimbabwean-American Rebecca Mwase trouble the waters of their Baptist upbringings in search of spirituality’s truth, revel in the unifying joy of song, and explore the tenuous history of the Missionary and the Native. Directed by Ashley Sparks, designed by Jeff Becker, with music by Emanuel Burke, costumes by Laura Sirkin-Brown, choreography by Monique Moss, script work by Lisa Shattuck, lighting by Hannah Adams, and stage management by Rebecca McLaughlin.

Go Ye Therefore… is a project of HOME, New Orleans?, an initiative of the National Performance Network, with funding provided by The Ford Foundation, and is a National Performance Network Creation Fund Project co-commissioned by Ashé Cultural Arts Center and 7 Stages (Atlanta, GA) and NPN. Additional support by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council as administered by the Arts Council of New Orleans.

ArtSpot Productions is an ensemble of artists dedicated to creating meticulously live theater in New Orleans. Our productions are a sincere blend of disciplines developed through ensemble authorship, physically rigorous training, original music, interactive sculptural environments, and extended research and rehearsal. We practice social justice and share power in our creative and organizational processes, and we strive to incite positive change in our community with visually stunning performances and empowering educational programs.
