"Making Our Way Home"
A benefit for the New Orleans Women Artist Collective
Friday, February 9th
8:00 p.m.
Spontaneous Celebrations (45 Danforth St. Jamaica Plain, MA)
Live music will be provided by award winning local Boston R&B/Blues artist Thaddeus Hogarth
and Jamm Down (Wes Wirth). NOWAC is a nonprofit organization based in Boston & New Orleans
working to assist New Orleans women artists in their journey back home, by providing support
and resources to restore their homes and their artistic endeavors.
NOWAC's "$1 Restore-A-Home" campaign is responsible for sending volunteer trade's people and
materials down to New Orleans on an ongoing basis to help with housing repairs/restorations. In
addition, NOWAC is organizing a series of tours for local New Orleans women bands and performing
artists to assist in getting them work. There will be food, as well as craw daddies! Artists are welcome
to donate their work towards the silent auction. A children's playroom will be available.
