Music Theory
Come participate in the music experience. Instructors teach music theory and music composition. Learn how to command the music language and techniques of playing, reading, and understanding the various forms of music.

Poetry/Spoken Word/Performance Arts
Develop a group or individual performance piece around issues of art and culture as they relate to your life. Learn from accomplished poets/spoken word artists to develop your poetic abilities.

Ashé Film Institute
Learn basic video production, filming and editing. Be the actor, director, camera crew, editor, and producer of your own video short.

Dance/Movement
Interested in dance? Come get professional guidance and create your own performance piece as well as learn the history and techniques of various forms of dance.

Saturday, May 5 at Ashé, from 5:00pm -9:00pm.
This visual arts exhibit showcases of three decades of mixed media drawings exploring social conflicts in an age of forsaken spirituality. Much of Tama's work is rendered in dramatic styles akin to contemporary Latino art. The opening coincides with the celebration of "Cinco de Mayo" which commemorates the triumph of the Mexican people against the French occupiers of 1862. The artist hopes that this exhibit can bring the diverse Hispanic community of New Orleans to Ashé to celebrate Latino heritage and culture.

New Orleans Filmmakers bring Pearl Jam Song to life
Ashé / Pearl Jam Video Project
In an effort to creatively support the local film community in New Orleans, J Records teamed up with Ashé Cultural Arts Center and commissioned artists to create 10 exciting visual interpretations of "GONE" the latest single from legendary rock band Pearl Jam.
